A colony of Easter Bunnies!

Digi images from Digistamp Boutique

Bunny rabbits galore!

Felt inspired to make some Easter cards – with enough time to get them posted before Easter!
I love these bunny images. They are coloured with promarkers, then I tried to make each one different – because that’s much more fun than making 6 all the same.

Easter card

This is my favourite – and it’s made only using paper. I took a lilac polka dot card blank, added a scrap of pink polka dot card and a scalloped circle cut on the BigShot. I embossed the circle to make that dotty too and to add a bit of texture.

The flowers and butterflies are cut using a hand punch. I drew freehand on them with a fine sharpie pen, and added colour with the promarkers. The flower stalks are just green card strips, drawn on with the fineline sharpie. The flower pots are also drawn freehand and cut out. I wrote the greeting by hand too.

Easter card 2

This is my other favourite, and it used up lots of ribbon scraps which is a bonus! I don’t know where the butterfly came from – I found it in the box of potentially useful bits and bobs which gets bigger and bigger by the day! The greeting is hand stamped.

I hope you like my cards, and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy Easter – hopefully there will be (chocolate) bunnies waiting for you on Easter morning.

30 days of creativity – day 14 – a wedding card

youngloveIt’s that time of year – wedding season!

I love this stamp from Lili of the Valley – the two children remind me of my daughter and her best friend.

I coloured the image with promarkers, and drew faux stitching around the edges. I couldn’t resist adding the paper doily as a lacy background. The bunting is also stamped and hand coloured.

The words are hand stamped, and I love these tiny wooden heart buttons.

Relax… it’s mother’s day! (soon!)

mumbathEvery mum knows that the key to happiness is an undisturbed dip in the bath – glass of wine in hand makes it even better!

This is the card I have sent to my own mum, I know she was so happy when we finally got a lock on the bathroom door!

The image is from jellypark and I have coloured it with promarkers. I think the papers are from Dovecraft, and the ribbons are from my ribbon drawer!

Linking up with the jellypark challenge blog for this month’s challenge.

30 days of creativity – day 10 – Dr Who card

A friend asked me to make a Dr Who birthday card for her nephew.
The images came from free colouring pages on t’internet, which I coloured with promarkers.

tardis

I decided to make the card 3D by cutting the door of the Tardis open and popping the little Matt Smith in the doorway. I chose spangly background card and printed the words on my computer using a free Doctor Who style font.

30 days of creativity – day 8 – zombie love

It’s been a long time since I posted.
Sorry.
I have been making things, but nothing which I thought I would blog about.
Anyway, Christmas is over – time for Valentine’s day!!

zombie valentine

I love zombies so when I found this freebie digi over at http://www.whimsiedoodles.com/valentine.html I just had to download it.

I coloured it with my promarkers, and made a simple background of shiny card, embossed with hearts and a small piece of black and white spotty paper.

Do you like it? Or perhaps you prefer a little more romantic…?

(30 days of creativity is spending 30 minutes doing something creative for 30 days, the days do not have to be consecutive. Why not join me? There is a facebook group here if you’d like to join.)

Sentiment is key – Jellypark blog challenge

Because I just discovered Jellypark digi images and I love them I decided to join in with their challenge this month, which is all about the sentiment. Their challenge blog is here.

And here is my effort…

DSCF0865It’s a different colourway than usual because I chose the backing papers first. I wasn’t sure about the beigey-pink sort of colours but I think it works quite well. Because this challenge was about making the sentiment centre stage I decided just to layer it up with some scalloped circles cut on the bigshot. I like the finished effect and will probably make some more! (Will add it to the to do list…)

30 days of creativity – day 4 – Christmas cards

Today I took some time to colour up a new image which I want to use for some Christmas card designs. It’s a very cute digi which I bought from http://www.jellypark.co.uk . I only just found this site and I love it already!

I decided this image would be great for grandparents. I made three cards altogether, one coloured as two girls, one with two boys and finally a card with a boy and a girl making the snowman.

I embellished it with a circular sentiment (also from jellypark), some ribbon and some little snowflakes. It also got a sprinkle of glitter because a Christmas card needs glitter!

30 days of creativity – day 2 – christmas stockings!

badgirlstockingseditI’ve been thinking about Christmas – yes, I know it’s still august, but these things creep up on you!

So, I did a doodle (oo-er!) and coloured it in. I’m not sure if it will make it onto a card, but I like it!!

A league of Father’s day cards!

Today has been all about football.
I hate football. It takes too long and there are too many rules.
But it’s nearly father’s day and men like football. Or at least they like an excuse to swear at the telly.

I got this digi image from http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/catalog/ and it has been very popular!

Can you guess which teams they represent?

A hobbit house card (aka – finding out I can still draw a bit.)

I like a challenge when it comes to cardmaking. People are always saying things like “can you make a card with a spaceship – spinning wheel – labrador in pyjamas motif?” (Not that combination exactly, but I like to say I’ll try anything!)

So, my friend Claire (she has a lovely blog here – check it out!) asked me to make a card for her husband. With a hobbit style house.

I could not find a suitable digi stamp anywhere on t’internet.  “How hard can this be?” I thought. “I have a GCSE in Art. I’ll draw one.”

DSCF9817So, here is the card I made. I coloured my image with promarkers and embellished the card with a wooden heart button, and some eyelets (because I tidied up my craft stuff and found my eyelet setting tool.)

And I was thinking, perhaps other people would like to have a hobbit house image to colour, so here my image. I use lots of freebies so it’s about time I gave something back!

hobbithouseI think you should be able to right click on that image and save it to colour yourself. (I am happy for you to use it for handmade items for personal use, and happy for you to sell the handmade items on a small scale.)

I’d love to see any cards you make using it so, please, do let me know if you do!
