Scrapbooking – without supplies!

Of course, having scrapbooked for years I have mountains of paper, brads, ribbon, eyelets, stickers, stamps, sparkly bits, buttons and studs.

But I decided to set myself a challenge – could I scrapbook without using loads of stuff?

I took one 30cm square of card, some tape and some sticky pads. Then I added three photographs and a load of leaflets and tickets from a recent trip to Dublin.

Okay, I sneaked a few eyelets in there, but nothing else… The backing paper is cut from the tourist map.

I made the backing paper into a pocket to store some more leaflets and memorabilia. And that’s it. You don’t need lots of expensive scrapbooking supplies to scrapbook successfully.

…But I think I’ll keep hold of all my stash anyway!

Scrapbooky Frames… a new venture

scrapbookpoppyhatI’m sure I’ve already mentioned that I love to scrapbook, and over the past year I’ve been doing a fair few scrapbook style cards using customer’s photographs. But now I am trying to move into selling framed pieces of scrapbookiness.

This is a little picture I made of my daughter Poppy, unframed on the left and in a red box frame on the right. I think they are so much lovelier than a plain framed photograph.

In a bid to show off some examples I’ve photographed some of the pages I’ve made for myself.

I especially love how vintage photographs look in these frames, so I made this one for my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day; it is her own mum in a beautiful vintage photo which I have adorned with vintage buttons and lace.

Perfectly personal and unique; what do you think?

Street party images

I somehow managed to sneak into a scrapbooking shop (woo hoo!!) and bought this ace sheet of paper, just right to record the street party we had last weekend. Unfortunately I hadn’t been organised (sober) enough to think about taking a group family shot, so I had to use several images to get a picture of everyone.

We had a fab day, meeting neighbours, sharing food and wine. It wasn’t the greatest June weather but the rain held off for the day.

A patriotic lot!

I kept the embellishments simple, just some cricut lettering, punched heart shapes and a little printed tag.

God Save the Queen!!
